The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Best Buy (Richfield, MN) in Dec 2009
Interview
Had initial phone interview with HR, then it took them a while to get back to me. I came in and they said they had two jobs they were hiring for, so I would be meeting with two different teams. I had 30-45 minute interview with 4 different people. It took them a few weeks before they wrapped up their process and I received my offer
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked about my merchant experience on my review, and for details on specific things I had done to drive the business and manage the P&L
I had an interview with a few people from buying and we went to lunch. I got a tour of the plant and felt like they really took time to get to know me. They asked behavioral interview questions and questions specific to the role I was applying for.
two interviews to go through, mostly laid back but depends on what role or who with. The culture is typically more business casual and that is carried through in the interview process as well.
I interviewed at Best Buy (Richfield, MN) in Aug 2010
Interview
Very professional, met with three different leaders (supply chain, marketing and senior buyers), it was timely and the whole process took about a week. There were the typical behavioral-based questions. The interview was internal so it was a faster process than the typical external interview. I did not have a phone screening and was immediately scheduled, so it really depends on the need of the position and urgency to fill the role.
