Had an easy correspondence with the recruiter who instantly set me up with speaking to the CEO, Kaiser. Did my normal background research of Better Body Bootcamp (BBB) before speaking. Had a video chat with Kaiser and within the first minute he called me 'girl' at least 3 times. Yes, I am a woman, in my 30's, and applying to a fitness company, but in no shape or form should a CEO call someone 'girl' in an interview or to an employee.
After I got past how he was to reference me throughout the interview - it became very clear that he has a control issue. He referenced how GMs source members and he has to close deals, how he has someone that does marketing but he's the one that approves of the material, and that the DoO position is too direct and needed to be generalized more.
Overall, I did not appreciate how he addressed me and I did not get a good taste for the possessive hierarchy and defensive nature towards suggestions to improve exposure and experience. After all, that's what hiring new employees is supposed to do.
