I applied through university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at BlackBerry (Vancouver, BC) in July 2015
Interview
I applied to this position through my school and since I live in BC it was a phone interview. There were two interviewers who ask me general interview questions and then proceeded to ask me more technical questions.

Technical java questions such as:exceptions, collections
When you come to a problem in your program, how do you solve it?
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at BlackBerry (Waterloo, ON) in May 2021
Interview
The first round was technical resume screening; the second round included coding, behavior, and technical questions.
Then, the recruiter contacted me within a week, saying I am one of the finalists for the round and they would like to initiate a background check and asked me for the details.
After waiting for three weeks, the recruiter emailed me, saying the role is currently under hold. They don't know when it'll resume and will contact me by then; Very Unprofessional interview process. Please don't waste your time applying to BlackBerry.

questions based on your resume and an easy coding question on string manipulation
I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at BlackBerry (Kanata, ON) in July 2014
Interview
- Very casual
- Some simple coding questions (what is an abstract class, create a "shuffle" method, etc...)
- Basic English required
- Brief overview on the job description and what the work entailed
- Phone interview, was given a date of the interview beforehand and the interviewer name
- No "why do you want to work here" sort of questions
- From my point of view, apart from the simple coding questions that were asked it was more to get a feel for whether or not the interviewee had the capability of performing tasks both individually and within a team
