I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at BlackRock (New York, NY) in Oct 2016
Interview
this interview was on hirevue. It was a recorded interview in which I was asked two questions (one at a time) and given about 2 minutes to prepare an answer for each one. you could not rerecord your answers, once they 90 seconds or was up the answer was submitted and it advanced to the next one. they gave two sample questions for you to practice with and you could advance to the real questions whenever you wanted. I received a follow up email about a month later asking me to do the next step- two more questions on hirevue. Awaiting an answer from that.
HireVue then 3 part superday. All interviews were a mix of technical and behavioral but mostly behavioral and market-based. Interviews were over a 4 hour period and with employees from different offices
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about your internship experience and why it sets you up for this role
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at BlackRock (New York, NY) in June 2026
Interview
The Hirevue questions were all behavioral, no tell me about yourself or why blackrock. Questions were pretty simple. Prepare a financial news story you are following because they will ask you that.
Hireview is preparation and then one time recording, which is from memory 3 minutes long. There was only 3 questions for me and most of it related to the role instead of purely just asking why blackrock or why this role.
