I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Built In
Interview
Interview process was very transparent and quick-moving, until suddenly, I was met with a cold auto-reject letter. When I followed up with my direct contacts from the hiring process, they gave me almost word-for-word the same vague canned response when I asked for more specific feedback about my candidacy. Extremely disappointing, especially considering I put a great deal of work into my interview assignment and preparing for multiple conversations. I would estimate I spent roughly six hours in total on this assignment plus preparing for the interviews, only to be met with this response.
If you're going to preach transparency in a hiring process, please be willing to give candidates more specific feedback about their process when asked, especially if you're asking for their personal time and energy to complete relevant assignments.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time you had to keep a subject matter expert on track in an interview.
1.Sent in a resume and writing samples
2.Asked to write 5 pitches for stories that could be featured on the website
3.Asked to write one of the pitches
4.Two skype interviews
5.In-person interview with the CEO
After going through an extensive interview process, including meeting the CEO in person, I had to email the company TWICE to get a response on my application. When I did, it was a single sentence saying I didn't get the job. I feel like if I had not emailed them as a follow-up they would've not even gotten back to me.
