      Initial phone screening with a recruiter who was a touch too buddy-buddy followed by a phone interview with the hiring manager. Phone interview was pure torture. The interviewer started off by saying something like “at any point, if you want to end this interview because this isn’t a good fit let me know.” Why would you immediately put that thought into someone’s head?! Interviewer then proceeded to interrupt and talk over me any time I began an answer. Then proceeded to talk and brag about himself and his insane schedule for 20 minutes. The whole interview was nearly 90 minutes! Honestly, the worst interview experience in my entire life

      I had a deeply disappointing experience during a job interview. The conversation went exceptionally well, and the hiring manager seemed genuinely impressed by my qualifications and skills. However, the tone shifted the moment I mentioned that I wear a headscarf. I was subsequently informed that I would not be hired because "clients might not accept it." This experience not only felt deeply unjust but also highlighted the persistent biases and discrimination that can overshadow professional merit.
