      Entry Level Recruiter Interview

      29 May 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Chicago, IL
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Chasing Unicorns (Chicago, IL) in May 2020

      Interview

The talent acquisition specialist got back to me very quickly after applying on LinkedIn and then their site. Our call was scheduled almost a week later with a calendly invite. I could tell she didn't even look at my resume by the questions she was asking. The call took about 10 minutes until I knew this wasn't for me. It sounded like a scam so I kept asking her to explain in further detail. I politely declined and said I'd think about it. They are expanding from California to Chicago.

      Question 1

"There is no fee to start, but upon job placement of $40,000 or over, a monthly fee of $700 is required for 10 months. Do you agree? "

      Interview

Unless you want to pay a company $7k for enrolling you into a bootcamp and you do all the work of applying to jobs, I would say find another company. This is not even a staffing company nor are they offering you a job in their company. Search them on reddit and you can see its not helpful to you.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Basic introduction: who are you, where you're from and what you studied?

      Application

The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Chasing Unicorns (Austin, TX)

      Interview

Didn’t Interview. I was selected for the second step and was asked to fill out the application, when I did one question baffled me. If you are offered $40,000 or more they are requiring you to pay $700 for 10 months. How is there an on boarding ONE person cost $7,000 it’s ridiculous. I answered no I don’t agree and wasn’t selected, which I’m glad. No job is worth it if you have to PAY THEM if they as the company approves what they are offering as a salary.
