I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Choice Hotels in Dec 2023
Interview
This was an extremely long process that needlessly dragged for nearly 2 months. After the HR rep initially reached out via email and we had an initial call, I heard nothing more for 3 weeks. I then was scheduled for four (4) additional interviews over the course of the next four weeks - mind you, every interview was scheduled separately and I never knew when the next interview request would come. Thankfully, they were all virtual and I was offered more than one timeslot each time (though I had to give a "backup" time as well each time, so really I was clearing two times for each interview scheduling request - talk about jumping through hoops), but they were time consuming nonetheless (both in terms of preparation and actual time spent) and they certainly could have been blocked closer together. Nearly two weeks after my last interview, I sent a note to the same HR rep asking if there was any update, and rather than send what could have been a two-sentence personal email saying "sorry, but we went with someone else, good luck with your job search", I was slapped with an auto-generated rejection mere minutes later. My feeling is that the baseline for humane communication with candidates gets higher the longer a candidate is in the pipeline - I made it basically to the end of the road, and Choice Hotels will not be getting any future applications from me based off that HR rep's rudeness and the lack of consideration for applicants' valuable time.
