The hiring process is pretty bad here. The first interaction I had with a recruiter was just an email confirming if I wanted an interaction. I feel like typically, it's often an interview with said recruiter. When I got to the actual virtual interview, I was told to have my camera on, so I did, but the interviewer said he wasn't going to. It seemed a little strange but fine. As we went on I was asked about my excel skills, and I'm not a professional in it by any means but know my way around pretty well and said that and was asked about VLOOKUPs and pivot tables. I said I've worked more on pivot tables than VLOOKUPs, so when giving my definitions of both, I realized I accidentally got it mixed up. But I was judged on that big time by the interviewer.
Then we get to the portion where I'm allowed to ask questions, and the interviewer basically had no answers for me that were sufficient. I reached out to the recruiter to correct the answer I didn't answer correctly for the interview (hoping they'd pass it on) and asked them the questions I never got answers to. Instead, I heard nothing back for a week and instead got a rejection email. I would have at least expected a response in regards to my questions about the company, but they couldn't even do that.
Someone mentioned something in regards to the bad HR in their interview review, and I agree. Out of the many interviews I've done, this one was just straight bad.
