I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Clear Motion (Billerica, MA) in July 2020
Interview
Applied online, first interaction was a 30 minute phone screen.
2nd stage was a 1 hour video interview with a controls engineer, given a controls oriented homework problem to complete before the interview.
Third and final stage was 3 hours of video interviews. Was given a longer set of controls homework problems to complete beforehand. Only one of the interviews was a technical discussion with control theory questions. Second homework set was never addressed which was frustrating after putting several hours into completing it.
All interviews seemed to go well. I was I was told I would hear back within two days, but then I was completely ghosted and never heard back from the company. ever again Unprofessional experience, would not recommend. I guess they saw something they didn't like in me, but couldn't bare to give me a rejection?
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Homework assignments included questions such as: write out the equations of motions for various spring mass damper systems; How you would construct a state estimator for such a system; various other engineering questions to gauge breadth of knowledge, such as basic circuit analysis, beam bending, and heat transfer questions.
