I noticed a lot of the other reports describe an experience similar to mine. I applied online and was given an assignment to complete. This assignment is clearly given without any review of your application because it comes in same day. No one is going through your application same day. They are asking you the candidate to invest a large amount of effort with none shown to you in return. Companies are supposed to be trying to attract candidates; the candidates are the commodity, the prize, not the company. Anyway, the assignment is how others have described it, find the top workers and workplaces, blah blah. The problem is that there is a bug in the BACK END portion of the application. I have read other reports here that state this is intentional. I am applying for a FRONT END position. The back end should not be part of an interview for a front end position. Also, interviews should not be adversarial where you receive material that is intentionally wrong without being told so. Finally, you don't have a lot of time to review this huge application you are supposed to work on, so trying to figure out a bug in a piece of software you have never seen before, while already under tremendous pressure to perform like a circus animal, and with technology you might be unfamiliar with AND has nothing to do with your role, is completely unacceptable. Do not apply to this company. Imagine how they treat their actual employees if this is how they treat candidates that they are supposed to be trying to attract.
