Customer Strategy & Experience Leader Interview

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Clipboard in July 2022

      Interview

I have never spent so much time nor invested so many efforts in a recruitment process in my life. If you apply for this company, be prepared to put in A LOT of work and preparation to move further in the process. - First step was a small case study with three Customer Support management questions. They were surprisingly detailed and gave an idea that the person creating the position knows CS. Total time spent: 1.5 hours. - After an interview with the recruiter (30 minutes) and another one with an individual who works for a different department (30 minutes) that has no relation with the position and thus was not able to provide any operational insight, I was invited to perform a complex case study. You are encouraged to write as much as you can (they make it clear that they love writing due to their asynchronous work methodology) and “show your math”. - The case study is 4 pages long. It presents a real-life issue they had during Q4, and provides a series of datasets in order to attempt to solve the issue, asking you to perform a detailed analysis and propose a detailed business plan. In the end, the assignment I delivered was of 30 pages. Total time spent: 16 hours. - After my case study was approved, I was invited to an interview with the Hiring Manager. This 30-minute meeting was incredibly rushed and I was bombarded with one question after the other without even being asked to introduce myself. I was given a very short piece of feedback about my 30-page assignment, claiming it was "good", but only after having asked for it in the allotted 5 minutes I was given to ask questions at the end of the interview. I was given no information about the operation or further specifics about the position. - I was later invited to an interview with the C-level hiring manager, who interviews every Leadership position and does it via a letter he writes to candidates. The letter is available in CBH’s website. You are requested to answer the letter in written, and the interview will be about your answers. You are also encouraged to really prepare for the interview. Total time spent: 1.5 work days. - During the interview with C-level (scheduled for 20 minutes) this individual did a deep dive into the hypothetical mathematical models I used in one sentence of my answers. This interview was extremely complex and required deep insights of data analytics, to the point that it felt like an interview for a data scientist position. - After 5 days I was rejected due to my poor performance in the last interview. No feedback was initially given about my application although it was provided after I asked for it. For a company that claims to like writing so much, I am surprised they don't have the habit of providing written feedback to candidates they expect A LOT of hard and unpaid work from. The message sent across all interviews is that this is a company where very hard work is expected. All positions are required to have a high degree of data savviness and a high-level mathematical approach to decision-making. Even though they pay well, it does not seem like a good place for a healthy work-life balance.
