Cloudsnap interview questions

First phone screening went great, the interviewer was amicable and we connected right away. A couple days later I received an email saying they wanted to see if I would interview for another (more) technical role. Of course I said I’m available for either position! From the second conversation, it seemed like the team was willing to take on someone with minor coding experience and they’d be willing to teach me Rails, which is what the job entailed. They didn’t reach back to me, I had to email them and was told they weren’t gonna move forward. My issue is they never asked if I was still interested in the position I initially applied for since it was THEM who suggested to interview for the second more technical position. Felt like I was placed in a very awkward position, unfortunate since I had a positive first impression with the interviewer for the onboarding role.
