I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Co-op (Leicester, England) in July 2013
Interview
I handed in a CV to a member of staff while looking for work. At the time the staff member said they had no current vacancies, however i was contacted over a week later an invited in for an interview.
The interview was on a Saturday at 5pm and sat the standard sort of one to one interview with the typical competency based questions such as 'Can you recall a time where you had to meet a deadline' and 'Can you talk about a time where you lead a project to completion'
Afterwards i asked about the training process for the job and was told to expect a call from the store manager about starting work with the company.

Question 1
One which caught me off guard was 'If employed what would you do to improve sales within our stores' Really stumped me as customer sales is down to company reputation and public perception rather than what you do in store as that is dictated by the company.
Very impersonal. All done online and the logic between what constitutes a good or bad answer is totally unidentifiable. You would have better luck turning up in person and asking if you can hand in your CV and interview in person instead!

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Co-op (Bournemouth, England) in May 2026
Interview
The interview process was very easy and straightforward. The interviewer was kind and made it feel more like a friendly, comfortable conversation than a formal interview. As well as one of the best interviews I've actually had.
