A 6-week, 5 round process resulting in being ghosted. The interviews had no continuity and felt like they were being scheduled to simply maintain a candidate pool vs actually vetting potential hires. The recruiter would apologize for missing check-ins for which they set timings, but continue doing it — finally admitting they had selected another candidate. Which is totally ok — but could have been shared more transparently vs occupying everyone’s time. Overall, it felt like C&M wasn’t prepared to hire — and instead, chose to abuse the time of candidates. There are plenty of reasons to be busy — but none for deliberately stringing along a person prioritizing your company, making space in their day, and juggling other opportunities for an income to sustain their basic needs. A bit cruel. Everyone on the team — regardless of the process — seemed like wonderful people. Was genuinely most disappointed that I wouldn’t be able to jump on to work with them.
