I applied online. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Colette Media in June 2022
Interview
Overall this was one of the most positive interview experiences I've had. Immediately after submitting my application online, I got an automated email illustrating next steps, that their goal was to review everyone's application and get back to people within a week.
A little over a week later, I sent a follow up email since I hadn't heard anything; got a pretty prompt response explaining that they were still reviewing applications but hoped to be in touch soon.
Not long after, I was scheduled for a 30 minute phone screener. The conversation was smooth, and I was given some pertinent information about the company (although about half of it I'd been able to find in my online research already). It was obvious to me that the person interviewing me had gotten a good look at the materials I had submitted with my application, which I appreciate. They mentioned something from my resume that wasn't directly related to the position but that they'd found interesting in a conversational way and it was a pleasant surprise.
I think perhaps two weeks later I had a 1-hour zoom call with the CEO. The call was recorded with my consent since another person I'd be working with closely couldn't attend. There were a few awkward moments since Zoom can sometimes be finicky on my computer and there were some lags in the conversation due to the connection. But also, I'm a bit awkward myself so that definitely came into play.
I was given an email address and told to write if I thought of any further questions.
I sent a thank you/follow up email a few days later elaborating one of my interview responses that I felt hadn't landed as intended.
The next morning, unfortunately, I got the dreaded 'thanks but no thanks' email from the person who conducted my first interview. After asking for feedback, they responded that it basically boiled down to going with someone who had several years of more directly related experience in a similar role, but that XYZ aspects of my application had made me stand out as a candidate.
Overall, an incredibly positive interview experience, and even though I did not get the job, I would not hesitate to apply again if something should come up that I feel I'd be a good fit for.

Question 1
Tell me about a time you struggled with effective communication. (They also asked about a time I was able to effectively communicate and it had a positive result.)
