I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Commonwealth Foundation (UK) (London, England) in July 2025
Interview
2 step interview process - First round remote with 3 panelists of the HR team, second round in office with 2 from HR and 1 from another team. Professional, good, relevant questions asked.

Question 1
How would you approach diversity and inclusion in your role?
I was interviewed for an advocacy role. This was a two-stage process - (1) a written assessment, completed over a few days and an online interview, followed by (2) a second in-person interview.
For the first interview, the panel was welcoming and considerate. After the interview, I felt was heard and was able to express everything that I wanted.
I was told that the decision about the outcome of the first stage would be communicated the following week. However, three weeks later there still was no news from the Foundation.
While this 'consumerist' approach to applicants is disappointing, it shows lack of transparency within the recruitment process in relation to external stakeholders. The communication of outcomes and feedback to all interviewed applicants is not merely a recognition of time and efforts that applicants put into, it demonstrates that the Federation assessed and considered each applicant against the job specification and other applicants. This is an important part of being a transparent and accountable organisation.
