I had two separate interviews for different roles. One as the Partner Marketing Manager and one as the Partner Enablement Manager.
The first interview was not a great experience. The interviewer seemed scattered and clearly had not reviewed my resume. She had perked up when I mentioned the name of my most recent employer ... I don't understand ... it's right in front of you? Did you not see their name?
Anyways, she mentioned they had previously scaled back the department and are now trying to scale it back up. This is a red flag to me that means budgets and plans are not stable at this company. Anyways, I realized they wanted somebody with a bit more experience and with 200 applicants, I wasn't shocked I didn't get the role.
So I applied for the Enablement role. I check the box of everything on the job description and it's a role that I actually enjoy. This interview was with another person, the VP. I always know it's a red flag when the person interviewing cant easily decipher a resume just because it doesn't have the exact same title as what you are interviewing for. Did you read the bullet points and how it's the exact same type of experience? Clearly she did not. She then proceeds to tell me that she has been in this role running the department for only 8 days and since then, what they have looking for has changed.
I feel like I'm dodging a bullet here and would stress caution to anybody else interviewing. This is clearly a team that does not have a strong sense of direction. This always leads to problems down the road.
