I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at DigitalOcean (Sunnyvale, CA) in June 2020
Interview
This was the best interview process I've ever experienced. The recruiter is always in communication. DO is the only company I've seen deliver their rejections by phone, and the conversation is very transparent but kind--they highlight the positive feedback, but at the same you aren't left wondering why you were rejected (in my case, I didn't do well enough on the technical, as I had suspected). While other companies may ghost or send a generic rejection email, DO will go the extra mile to speak with you. Definitely apply here if you're interested. The only downside I want to mention is that it sounds like they get a lot of applicants (+1000 for the position I applied for), so you will likely face some strong competition.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at DigitalOcean
Interview
Applied through referral
1. Discussion with hiring manager about why I was interested in the position and why I thought I would be a good fit etc.
2. Take home project.
3. 3 45 minute interviews with members of the team covering related topics both technical and non-technical.

Question 1
How would you describe a good manager you had worked with in the past?
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at DigitalOcean in July 2020
Interview
There was an initial phone screen with the recruiter. Then, I had an interview with the hiring manager. From there, I was given a take-home submitted anonymously. Once the take-home was assessed I was scheduled for a panel interview that took about 3 hours, over two days with 3 different people. Two from my team and one cross-functional.
