I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at DigitalOcean in Oct 2021
Interview
For me (the process is not the same for everyone) the interview was broken up into 4 parts:
- Manager Screening (30m)
- Tech Lead Screening (30m)
- Day One Technical Interviews (2 sessions totaling 2 hours)
- Day Two Technical Interviews (2 sessions totaling 2 hours)
The manager screening is to get a general feel for the company, the culture, and to see if you are definitely not a fit. It is also so you can ask basic work and life questions to make sure it's something you want.
The tech lead screening was a basic test to see if core competencies were in line such that a full interview would not be a waste of time.
The long session interviews were the technical interviews which spanned several technical disciplines and discussion about project mgmt. A good deal of coding -- "let's build this very simple product" & "let's debug this failing app", but in my case no algorithms.
All in all the process felt conversational and reasonably fun.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at DigitalOcean (Hyderābād) in July 2025
Interview
3 rounds
1st rounds consisted of HLD and current project description questions
2nd round, they gave a DSA problem, and asked to machine code and show the output, along with some HLD situation based question
3rd round they gave me a design question for visit once link feature, along with follow up questions. Each round lasted for around 1 hours
