I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Dollar General (New Bern, NC) in July 2012
Interview
My initial interview went well. Current store manager interviewed me & hired me on the spot. Told me that I would be a great asset to the team & told me that he would hire me for the open position & when the position I applied became available he would make sure I was promoted; depending on my work performance. I accepted because I knew my work ethics and performance would land me the position; however, I didn't have the pleasure of working with this manager due to a robbery at this store & he was shot and didn't return. But I did still work here & was overlooked on numerous occasions; but continued to work at location becaus I loved the customers...
I interviewed at Dollar General (Charleston, WV) in Jan 2018
Interview
I had no interview. They called asked if I was still interested and told me what to wear and when to be there. Once I arrived three me on the computer to do cbls.
Great interview! Answered all my questions, and even gave me helpful numbers incase I had anymore. The staff was very nice, and the store was very big. I'm excited to see what dollar general has in store for me!
I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Dollar General (Austin, TX) in Jan 2016
Interview
Very fast only a few questions. Still dressed professional. FYI if you are applying dress to impress regardless of it being the DG. I applied online and did not hear anything from them for over a month. so I went to the store myself and asked about the application. Then they scheduled me an interview. I got accepted after interview. The process took about 3 weeks because of drug testing, new employment forms etc. But the interview itself was fairly easy
