      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Dollar General

      Interview

Was given an overview of what the interview process would be like over the phone, and the DM was very friendly. I enjoyed the interview process, but I also found out that the location I thought I was applying for didn't actually have a position available - all positions are listed as open online, and then they just fill you in as they have a need. I also found out that I would have to travel quite a bite in order to train for the position.

      Interview

The people I spoke to were wonderful and the process was quick. I got a great feel for the culture upfront. There are a LOT of interviews you have to go through that ask similar questions.

      Training Manager Interview

      10 Nov 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Nashville, TN
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Dollar General (Nashville, TN) in Oct 2019

      Interview

After a recruiter screen and a phone interview, I was asked to provide 3 days I'd be available for an on-site interview. I was then asked to come in on a day I said I would be unavailable... for a 5-6 hour interview. I had to take a day off work to accommodate this request. I was seated in a conference room and given a boxed lunch while different people came in and out of the room to ask questions. I was told I'd be notified either way in 1.5 weeks. After not hearing back for 2 weeks, I reached out to learn that they went with other candidates. I think it speaks volumes of a company to ask someone for an interview that long on a day they said they'd be unavailable and to not even get back to them. It felt pretty disrespectful and I'm glad I won't be working here.
