I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Dollar General in June 2013
Interview
When you apply, they generally get back to you very quickly. If it's a key holder level position or higher you may get called in by the DM or SM, but have to interview with both. DONT COME EXPECTING THE POSITION THEY CALL YOU ON. They're bad about needing more than one position filled, but may want you to take a step lower than what you applied for/was called for. I initially got called for ASM but the DM told me at the interview the next day after she called that they found someone and I could take a sales leader position for 8.50. I accepted since I was jobless and interviewed with store manager who also confirmed I was hired. I eventually got the ASM position as that one and the next they hired were outrageous goofballs who shouldn't even be cashiers.
I interviewed at Dollar General (Lawrenceburg, TN)
Interview
I was interviewed over the phone and given the job on that same call. Company is fairly desperate for employees but they prefer people with experience especially previous dollar store experience.
Phone Call that lasted less than 5 minutes , and not a lot of details given. Text messages exchanged back and forth about interviews , and hearing from corporate office.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Dollar General (Milton, WV) in May 2022
Interview
The interview process was very straightforward they asked my availability anytime that I needed off any specific days I needed off. They asked about my experience as an assistant store manager and regular team lead. They did the normal what if this scenario happened what would you do. The interview was very easy but they did receive a lot of information from me
