I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Dominion Energy (Fairfax, VA)
Interview
Phone interview. Cast test. Person to person interview with supervisors and managers. Average interview not to hard. The one on one interview is with supervisors first and then with managers. Got a decision on the spot.
Initial phone interview. Then scheduled for CAST test. If test results are "recommended", you are then in a pool of other "recommended", people are chosen from that pool for interview. If chosen, interview scheduled. Interview is first a panel of three then if they approve, you move on to panel of two. If all goes well, you wait to see if you are chosen for the position. Then post offer, background check, cdl physical and drug test, Dmv background check. 4 to 6 week process for all this. Then you arrange a start date.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Dominion Energy
Interview
When, and if you pass the Cast Test, you will be scheduled for a interview with a 3 person review board. Although you would figure that would be your final step its not. Once you make it through the review panel of 3 people, you go onto the hiring managers. Although the questions are pretty standard across the board they don't seem to be to sure what it is they are looking for! The questions are simple control questions, but they want you to sell yourself to them! In this job you'd figure if you have construction work experience that would give you a foot in the door, also while knowing you'd be on probation for 6 months anyway. I'm here to tell you that's not the case. My work experience didn't matter, and going to 3 different rooms speaking to 6 people total made things seem somewhat repetitive. At the end someone from HR came to me, and took me in a room to say we are going to go with another candidate at this time, with know explanation to what I did wrong if anything. I try not wasting ones time, and I believe that is what was done to me. Lastly, if you apply for this company good luck.

Question 1
My most unexpected question I received was, how did I rate myself using computers? Was I a beginner, intermediate, or advanced user?
