I recently applied for the Full Stack Developer position at DSTNY, and the interview process was disappointing.
From the start, the recruiter emphasized how stressful and demanding the work environment is, which felt off-putting. It was concerning to hear about the lack of work-life balance for a position of this nature.
The interview itself was very formal, consisting only of basic questions without much engagement. With over 8 years of experience, I expected a more dynamic conversation. What surprised me most was that after the interview, I was asked about my availability for a second round, which led me to believe things were progressing well. However, I was later rejected without any concrete feedback. A more detailed response would have been helpful to understand what I could improve in the future.
Positive points:
Quick and professional organization of interviews.
Negative points:
Negative portrayal of the work environment.
Lack of natural communication during the interview.
Outdated interview format with only standard questions.
No constructive feedback after the interview.
