I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at ESI Construction (Meridian, ID) in Aug 2013
Interview
Neil Nelson called me personally for a phone screening which lasted about an hour long. Mr. Nelson then extended a personal invitation to fly me from Denver to Boise to meet with him and discuss his Denver satellite office vision, my new role working remote and his expectations and vision for me. Neil covered the uniqueness of the ESI culture, his personal vision for the company as a whole, the new ESI Express Division and where he thought I'd make for a good fit.
After arriving to the ESI corporate headquarters after an early morning flight I sat in the lobby for well over an hour as Neil was in the middle of a significant bid for a significant project.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Neil asked me the normal questions that a president of a construction company would ask. He asked me what my vision would be heading up the Denver office, cultivating new clientele for the new Rocky Mountain Division. Mr. Nelson covered and outlined the ESI culture and why he hand selected his management team and why he does the specific practice. I was very satisfied with Neil's presentation and flattered when he offered me the position.
