I applied online. I interviewed at Earthsight (London, England) in July 2024
Interview
The interview process was a positive experience overall. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, which really helped put me at ease. There were no unpredictable or tricky questions—everything was directly related to my experience and the role outlined in the job description. The interviewers seemed genuinely interested in understanding how my background and skills aligned with the position, and the conversation flowed naturally.
Online interview over zoom. Very tailored questions, lots of details about the organisation, intent to find out what you are like as an employee. One of the best interview experiences I have had.
I was interviewed for a researcher role. The interviewers were respectful and patient, giving me time to respond and even engaging in a discussion with me.
I did not get the job, so I asked for feedback. However, my request was ignored. For me, this raised questions about the organisation's 'consumerist approach' to applicants as well as the recruitment process itself. How my interview responses were noted, assessed and considered against the personal specifications and other applicants. Maybe they weren't.
Given that the organisation's mission is to hold others to account and greater transparency, the organisation should be able to demonstrate its own internal and external accountability and transparency in relation to recruitment processes.
