I applied in-person. I interviewed at Entelect (Johannesburg) in Apr 2026
Interview
I went through two interview stages — first with the recruiter, then a technical interview.
At the start, I was very nervous, but as it went on, I became more relaxed and it felt like a normal conversation.
During the technical part, I had to code while they were watching. I got so nervous that I couldn’t even do something simple like a console log. I was really frustrated with myself because I know I’m capable of much more.
I felt like I was a junior developer, that time i have 5 years of experience as a senior developer. I still don’t understand why I reacted that way - i'm still mad at myself till today :-(
Unfortunately, I didn’t get the offer.

Thank you for sharing this so honestly. Interview nerves can get the better of anyone, even the most experienced developers, and it certainly does not reflect your true ability. We are glad the process felt conversational and positive overall. Please do not be too hard on yourself.
The interview process usually unfolds over several stages. Here’s how it typically goes for me: 1. Application Screening After I submit my resume, cover letter, and any other required documents, the recruiting team reviews them. They're looking to see if I meet the basic requirements, like relevant experience, education, or specific skills. 2. Initial Screening Interview If I’m shortlisted,

Good interview. Was engaging and low pressure. Interviewer was fair and had a friendly personality, making the interview process much more relaxed and engaging. Also had some more personal conversations, and also explained the business thoroughly
