      Software Engineer Interview

      5 Oct 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Redlands, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Esri (Redlands, CA)

      Interview

I interned at Esri this past summer so I knew everyone who interviewed me which was a great advantage. I had my interview for full time on my last day as an intern. The interview is about 8 hours long. You will meet the HR person at 9 and she will go over some details and will give you the list of people who will be interviewing you. After that she will take you to your next interview and drops you off, afterward at the end of each interview, the interviewers will take you to the office of the person who will be interviewing you next. They're going to be back to back with an hour somewhere in there for lunch. Make sure you bring a water bottle with you, you'll be talking A LOT. The interview questions were pretty standard, what you'd expect to see during an interview. Only one of the interviews was programming, and the rest were more like discussing things. You'll be asked to code in Visual Studio which is pretty nice.

      Answer question

      Question 5

What would I change about the existing tools/workflows? How would I change the Common API? (Common API is what I was working with all summer so I gave my personal thoughts on it)

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Esri (Gurgaon, Haryana) in Aug 2025

      Interview

6 rounds, each round 1 hour, and at odd hours, for a company and compensation that do not justify it. Worst interview I've ever given or seen. And it is not succession round based, they will take all 6 rounds and then declare the result. What a waste of time

      Interview

Got a call from HR to ask about my background. Later hiring manager scheduled a call. It was a mix of resume based and behavioral questions. Then onsite interview was set up. It was a negative experience. They think they are the only ones who are doing great work in the tech industry. Please do your research before applying.
