I recently attended the interview process for the Software Engineer role. The process had three rounds: an assignment round, a virtual technical interview, and an HR round.
For the first round, I invested around 8–10 hours building a proper Inventory Management System as per the assignment requirements. I took the assessment seriously and submitted a working project with frontend, backend, database, Docker setup, and deployment links.
However, my experience in the second round was disappointing. During the virtual interview, the interviewer’s microphone/audio was unclear multiple times, and some questions were not properly audible from my side. Instead of checking or acknowledging the technical issue, I was repeatedly told that I was not listening properly.
I understand that technical problems can happen in virtual interviews, but candidates should not be judged unfairly because of audio issues from the interviewer’s side. I had prepared seriously and handled the process professionally, so I expected the same level of professionalism in return.
Based on my experience, candidates should be careful before investing a lot of time in the assignment round. The assessment requires real effort, but the interview experience did not feel respectful or well-managed.
This is my personal experience, and I hope the company improves its interview process for future candidates.
