I applied online. I interviewed at Everlight Solar (Detroit, MI) in Jan 2026
Interview
The interview process is definitely a little scammy; the recruiters turn their cameras off, and it seems they are reading from a script. This company gives very culty vibes, they don't want their employees to have conversations with each other, pay is low, and they want you to come in out of hours when needed.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked me to compare my traits to my best friend.
Went through long process of assessments and interviews and it’s been over a week and haven’t heard anything back. Seems like this is a trend for them… Felt impersonal with turning off camera and reading off script.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Everlight Solar (Austin, TX) in July 2024
Interview
The short version is I did the entire interview process and they didn't send me an offer.
The long version: I applied and shortly after I received an assessment. It was basic comprehension, typing, etc. After that I was asked to schedule a 10-15 screening interview. I did that and I think it went really well. It was a lot of really general questions but nothing too intense. Then they sent me another assessment. This one was more about personality but again really easy. It was one of those strongly agree - strongly disagree scale with situations. After that I was approached by the same person who did my screening because I was in the running for 4 different positions and she said she wanted to put for the project data assistant and that they'd love to schedule me to meet with the supervisor for that role. So then I scheduled a 45 minute interview. That also went really well and I was feeling so hopeful! Yes, they did ask questions that were kind of weird like who's more ocd you or your best friend and yes they kind of seem like a cult but truly what corporate workplace isn't? I do think think they need to change the phrasing but in general I was still 100% all in and really wanted to work there. During this interview she even mentioned next steps of if I got an offer and when could I start working. After that they sent me one more assessment and it was just to send them my social media accounts which I sent them my instagram which was private. A few days later I got an email that they decided to pass on my application and I was devastated. I feel like they wasted my time and really made me feel like I was a perfect fit. I don't understand what went wrong when I made it that far through the application process and was genuinely excited to work there.

In a class setting there are 3 different type of people: someone who listens but doesn't ask questions, someone who listens and then asks the teacher questions after class, someone who listen but raises their hands in class and asks questions. Which one are you? Describe the best day at work? Describe the worst day at work?
