I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Evidence Action in Mar 2025
Interview
The interview process was managed by an HR rep who was kind, clear, thorough, and communicative. I completed a 1:1 screener with one of the members of the hiring panel, a technical assignment which required ~8 hours of work, and a final panel interview. The interviewers were always friendly and well prepared for the conversations. It was possible that I would complete a fourth round and didn't hear back from them for a week about that, but it was not needed in the end.

Question 1
Tell us about a time when you had to solve a conflict on your team
Thank you for sharing your interview experience with us. It’s great to know our team was communicative, came prepared to conversations, and were welcoming throughout.
We appreciate your note on the technical assignment. At Evidence Action, we aim to design these exercises to be manageable within a 1–3 hour timeframe and include that guidance in the instructions. We apologize if yours required significantly more time. We’re always looking for ways to make the process more manageable and transparent, and your feedback helps us continue to improve the candidate experience.
Thank you again for your insight and for engaging so fully in the process. Welcome to the team!

It was in 4 phases. First an initial interview, then a technical assessment, then a panel interview, and finally an interview with the director. It is important to prepare ahead, practical questions may be asked in addition to behavioral questions.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Evidence Action (Nairobi) in Aug 2024
Interview
The interview process at Evidence Action is quite transparent and also thorough. Specifically I loved the first HR interaction where the job component was explained to me in details just for me to know what I'm getting myself into. Even better, the salary range and benefits were disclosed during the first interaction. This is very important to job seekers.
Secondly the pressure was not too much during the proceeding interviews as the interviewers were friendly and open to repeating questions whenever there was no clarity.
We are happy to hear you had such a positive experience throughout the recruitment process! Evidence Action's intention is to provide candidates with everything they may need to determine if an opportunity is the best path forward for their career early on in conversations. We are committed to ensuring all candidates feel welcomed by every member of the hiring team within each interview stage, and it’s wonderful to know that was your experience.
Thank you again for sharing and welcome to the team!
