I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Exeter City Council (Civic Centre) in July 2022
Interview
Worst interview I've ever had. Received an email inviting me to interview far more than 3 weeks after the deadline, so by then I had already accepted another job. I was interviewed by 4 people all at once who barely looked at me and were staring down at a piece of paper the whole time and didn't engage in any other type of conversation other than the questions written down. One of the interviewers was someone in the role I was applying for and when I asked them about the job they seemed miserable and implied they were just trying to get through everyday and reach the end of the apprenticeship. They showed me around the office afterwards but I never heard back from them despite calling and asking for an update.
The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Exeter City Council in June 2025
Interview
The interview atmosphere was calm and more conversational, creating a relaxed environment where the interviewee felt comfortable sharing their thoughts and experiences openly. This approach allowed for a deeper and more meaningful exchange of ideas and insights.

I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Exeter City Council (Exeter, England) in Apr 2025
Interview
Very friendly and laid back interview process, made me feel welcome even though I was 15 minutes late. Asked me 10 questions for what it is like working in the public sector and my experience working with Data. Understood if I stuttered or needed a second for water or to catch my breath.
