I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at FTI Consulting (Houston, TX) in Oct 2017
Interview
Was under the impression that it would be only a behavioral interview. The first 3-5 minutes of the interview was me giving an overview of who I am and my background. The remaining of the interview was technical questions. The questions felt very much like an investment banking interview. Both individuals were really rude and don't provide feedback on whether or not you are answering the questions appropriately. In addition, they very obviously were putting checks and x's next to the questions that I was getting right and wrong. Overall it was one of the weirdest and least personal interviews of recruiting on-campus.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at FTI Consulting (Dubai) in Aug 2024
Interview
friendly, warm, and overall conducted well. It was only the initial HR interview, conducted by a well spoken and well rehearsed gentle man. He was aware of the time, gave you time to speak, and was very open to questions. Whatever he did not know he got back to me and clarified
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at FTI Consulting (Boston, MA) in Sept 2023
Interview
Hireview with two questions, one minute each, where you only get two attempts of answering for each question. Questions were straightforward and high level for why FTI was right for you.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at FTI Consulting (London, England) in May 2020
Interview
I was referred to FTI by an existing employee, and had an initial conversation within a week. During that initial conversation, the HR personnel was late for over an hour, she explained it was because she was too busy and asked to rearrange, which was understandable.
After we had our conversation, she told me she would let me know within a week whether they would progress me further. Of course, there was no response within a week so I chased them and she again told me she will let me know within a few days/week. The same thing carried on for a few more times... After 2 months from the initial conversation, I was informed that they had gone with candidates with more experience, which again is understandable. However, I do not appreciate and do not accept how slow and painful the process is, it's almost like they wait until they find a more suitable candidate with more experience before informing you that you do not have the right experience. This could have been communicated much earlier on.
Overall, It was not a pleasant experience and I felt that my time was not valued and this completely changed my view of this company. The process is unprofessional and I have not experienced such a sub-standard application process.
