I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Farmers Insurance Group (Toms River, NJ) in Jan 2015
Interview
Simple, not difficult. I was persistent in calling and following up to make sure I was not forgotten about. The interview did in no way prepare me for the job, however. They ask questions that are basic "Can you get here on time" "Do you have reliable transportation"
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I did most of the talking. They wanted to make sure I was comfortable selling
Was basic and tedious asking me questions about my prior work history so make sure that I understood the job role. Overall it was not difficult to formulate an answer to the questions.
The interview was professional and conversational. The agent clearly explained the role, expectations, and growth opportunities. I was asked about my communication skills, work ethic, and goals. Overall, it felt welcoming, informative, and focused on long-term potential rather than pressure
Detailed with multiple calls. Explained in detail the onboarding and training processes including the financial obligations with starting an agency. There was a personality test to help determine fit with the company.
