I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at FedEx (Colton, CA) in Aug 2011
Interview
Searched Fedex careers and my local fedex ground was hiring part time package handlers so followed the application process by scheduling a sort observation a week later. Arrived at the sort observation about an hour early and was first person there. They only allowed 40. HR woman read the duties of the position, I feel that she trying to scare some people off. After she split us up into two groups of 20 and showed us the work envirment and told us to come back the next day to apply. Arrived the next day and applied in the HR room and to my surprise we had the option to wait a few minutes for an interview so I stayed. The interview only lasted about 5 minutes and was vey easy. Basic questions were asked and I was told that a background test would be conducted and if I were eligible I would get a call back for orientation. That was two days ago so I am still waiting...3 days later I was called and accepted the position
ps: remember to look sharp and have a resume on hand at all time. I was the only one who did out of like 20 people
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
can you lift up to 75 pounds for up to 4 hours at a time?
Mostly based off work history. They seem felon friendly. I do not have a criminal history. Personality test not difficult. They responded within 4 weeks. Haven't been there physically or meant face to face.
Super easy process—mostly online application with basic questions about availability, ability to lift 50-70 lbs, and fast-paced work. No tough interview; quick hire after background check. Positive and straightforward. Definitely worth it.
