I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Firstup (New York, NY) in Nov 2020
Interview
A recruiting company they work closely with reached out to me in regards to this job. Pretty easy process, had a couple of Zoom interviews. First interview went well. We discussed my background and how I could be a potential fit with SC. Second interview was with a more senior person went sideways. They were disengaged from the beginning, didn't ask me a single question regarding my background/experience, then proceeded to share the feedback with the recruiter (after I asked for an update several times) that they didn't feel my background would suffice for the role. Mind you, my background was not once discussed, and it actually surpasses their job description. My previous and current achieved quota is higher than the one they have for the role I was interviewing for. They also asked me extremely specific questions regarding the product, buyer and industry that only someone who works there would be able to answer adequately. This was after the stressed how unneccessary it was to have any experience in their product, industries, or buyers. Seemed like they were utilizing the interview to gain competitive advantages as opposed to finding a candidate for an open position. Overall strange and unprofessional process. Seemed biased.
