I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Fisher Investments (London, England) in Oct 2016
Interview
After a phone screening and a first telephone interview a second interview was scheduled with the hiring manager. The exact interview time was never confirmed and so it came as a surprise when the hiring manager phoned me and started firing questions at me without apologising. This second interview was followed by a radio scilence of three weeks until finally the recruiter phoned me to say i was not successful. He was however willing to consider me for a call centre position which I found insulting considering I have two degrees and eight years of work experience.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Fisher Investments (Plano, TX) in June 2022
Interview
Diligent. Everyone had an extensive list of (perceptive) questions and I appreciated that they used BlueJeans instead of Zoom or WebEx. I went through three interviews, and they were all well-sequenced: first the recruiter (formality), then an executive (I had their attention...now I had their curiosity), then someone within the department (was I someone the team would actively want to work with?). Everyone was professional without being stiff, and courteous without being artificial.

Question 1
I was asked about personal projects, which I found reassuring because they genuinely seemed interested in who they were interviewing. There was none of that box ticking "I see you worked at A, B, and C - yea yea, moving on" style of interview you get at tons of other places.
