I met a FI representative at a job fair. I talked with him for about twenty minutes, and by the end had organized a phone interview. The phone interview was pretty basic, asking me about personal goals, my interests in finance, and other basic interview questions. A few days after I heard back from FI, who wanted to schedule an on-site interview. I live within a reasonable driving distance to one of their major HQ's, but others like me were flown in from around the country. We first took a tour of the campus, which involved talking to a few account execs. and higher ups. We also sat through a few presentations on the firm's history, business units, etc. and were encouraged to ask ask many questions as possible.
We had lunch on the conference room, and chilled with a few account execs. After lunch, we had three ~30 min interviews each. Two of my interviewers were pretty chill, very professional in asking and answering questions, polite, etc. The third was a complete tool and for some reason continually questioned my honesty/ integrity in an accusing and aggressive manner. I was not about to let him walk all over me/ or kiss his ass ( both of which I would recommend if you actually want to work for FI), so I called him out; he didn't this, so the final 10-15 mins were fairly tense.
After interviews we took a tour of Portland, which was pretty fun because most of the other applicants were nice/cool guys. The tour was followed by dinner, with a few account execs and a few Sr. people.
Overall, it was a pretty fun day.
