I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Fisher Investments (Vancouver, WA) in June 2010
Interview
First had a 30 minute phone interview with a recruiter. Was then brought down to Vancouver Washington for a number of interviews over the course of one day with a recruiter, and a variety of team members which lasted about 4 hours. Lastly had another 30 minute phone interview with the team manager (would usually be in person however he recently had a kid and was staying down in Cali.) About a week after my last interview was given an offer.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why did you decide go to to the university you did?
Applied, within 24 hours got an offer to interview over the phone. Phone interview was positive and was told I’d be recommended for a video interview. 3 days later, got a boilerplate rejection email. The kind that says, “after careful consideration” you know the one. The one that feigns consideration as corporate insulation from the applicants. If you want to still apply for a company that says, verbatim per the email,
“We understand you may want additional information about our decision. However, as a company policy, we do not provide feedback”, then you are entitled to your own pain and suffering.
Phone Interview, behaviour questions and availability. Asked about previous work experiences. Spoke for about 30 mins. Recruiter was new. The conversation was not flowing. Hence I was hesitant with my answers. But it was not very difficult.
Good experience with their recruiters. They are very nice and professional, and HR shares lots of helpful information and positive insights. They also have a very systematic, clear, and well-organized interview schedule.
