I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Four Winds Casino (New Buffalo, MI) in May 2025
Interview
I applied for the Information Security Engineer II position, after about a month I got an emailing stating that I "piqued" their interest. I responded to their request for times for an interview on a Wednesday and didn't hear back at all that week. The following Monday I followed up with a new set of dates for the interview, which I finally heard back. The manager claimed that my email went to quarantine and didn't see it, while I don't want to call him a liar, it's really hard to believe that it got quarantined due to the fact it was sent from a Gmail account that has been active for decades and no links or anything inside of the email. Once we settled on a date, the interview wasn't really anything special, your basic google interview questions. There were 3 people from the Four Winds team on the interview, which from what I gather from their in-between talking, that was their whole team. The manager had also mentioned a few times that they had a mass exodus of their team so that was a little concerning. Their "technical" side of the interview were very generic questions like "What's the difference between HTTPS, SSL, and TLS" so that was a bit of a disappointment but I don't think they have the skill set to set up, secure, and actually leverage something like that. While they were interviewing me I was also trying to get a feel of what they might know, which again unfortunately, didn't seem like a lot. I had mentioned some common tools used in the industry and there were blank stares.

Easiest process ever. They called me, set up an appointment for a phone interview, and when I was called I answered a few questions and was offered the position on the spot.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Four Winds Casino (New Buffalo, MI) in July 2024
Interview
I applied for this position as I have experience as a Security Officer in casinos. They called to schedule an interview, and I showed up on the day/time agreed upon...
And the manager didn't know who I was or why I was there. I had to wait by the back door for 40 minutes for him to finish the work he was doing when I showed up...and then he finally interviewed me. I thought it went great...I felt really confident about possibly landing the position. A few days later I wanted to follow up, but the manager that interviewed me didnt have any idea about what happens after he pushes my application forward to HR
And HR's number went straight to voicemail. I left a professional message, and received no call back. Tonight at midnight, 8 days later I got a rejection email that told me they're going with other candidates and good luck on my career journey. I can't help but feel this was one of those ghost ads..because the position is still up but they didn't hire anyone, and management knew nothing about any interviews. Shame, I wanted to work there..but seeing how unprofessional that whole process was has absolutely changed my mind. Bullet dodged, I guess.
