I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Furzly
Interview
Applied for a freelance writer position. In addition to the application process, I wrote multiple articles that were complete with pictures and graphics, they self referenced other articles on the site, were fully search engine optimized, and thoroughly researched. After I submit the first, I was asked to submit another. I did, and subsequently submit a third article. After submitting my third I was never contacted again. I reached out twice and no one ever got back to me. After looking at their site months later, it does not show any article posted by new writers, only the ones that we’re currently there when I applied. Given the number of applicants for the position, and asking all of them to write one or more articles, it seems like they were really just mining for article ideas. I don’t think they ever intended on hiring anyone.
Did not get to the point of an interview. Submitted my resume, got an immediate response with a request to take a couple of tests. The first one was a logic test and the second was a typing test. Already seeing red flags. Shortly thereafter I received a request to do an editorial test. I was to review two potential blog posts and provide feedback to the writer. When I opened one of the files in Google docs, I found another candidate's comments already in there. I downloaded the files, removed her comments, added my own and sent the files back to Furzly. Two weeks, no response. Checked their website and the position is no longer listed but their blog has one of the test posts up live and it reflects some of my very specific edits. Could be a coincidence, but leaves a bad test in my mouth.
