Question 1
Implementation of C-style malloc, free functions based on corresponding OS APIs malloc, free. The catch was, how to exchange a memory block size between malloc and free
Great interview experience. The first two rounds were virtual and third round was onsite. Questions were mainly focused on GPU architecture and performance tuning. The onsite interview involved four one-hour interviews.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at GE HealthCare (Bengaluru)
Interview
Looks like the recruiting staff did not communicate the job description properly to me. Also, he did not communicate my job expectations to the hiring team. While the questions in the first round matched my expertise, the questions in the 2nd round were totally tangential. It was pretty sad that was done to cut my interview short.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at GE HealthCare in Aug 2015
Interview
The initial call was with their HR out of Michigan. The representative was very friendly and I was excited for the interview. The position was out of the Barrington, IL office. The day of my tech screen call, I was contacted by the department manager. She seemed completely disinterested in talking with me. First, she kept claiming that she could not hear me because my line was bad. I asked her if I could call her back on a land line, but she decided instead to try continuing. Then, the call dropped and when I attempted to call her back from a land line phone, she refused to pick up. It also happened to be her cell phone, which I am sure was the one with a connection issue. I tried to call back the original HR representative, but she never responded to my call. I guess this whole experience made me glad that I didn't get any further in the process. After speaking with a former colleague, he mentioned that I was going to be challenged getting in there because 1 - I'm not Indian and 2 - I likely have too high of a salary. If these are going to be issues, they should be up front and not waste people's time.
