I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at GEICO in June 2014
Interview
The aptitude test is hard for somebody who doesn't have any experience in the industry. It is not really an excel skill test, rather problems that are written on the excel spreadsheet. There are also questions with free response.
Given basic Questionnaire to answer, then some old-fashioned Excel test where you are given things you likely haven't been really exposed to, considering you are applying for an entry-level position
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at GEICO (Croton-on-Hudson, NY)
Interview
The process was quick and simple. Performing well on the excel assessment definitely helped move me along in the interview process (the excel assessment is more a pricing assessment). HR was helpful, too. Note: if you say you are proficient in a software or language, they will probably ask you some questions!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Can you explain the basics of pricing and reserving and how they differ?
I applied through university. I interviewed at GEICO (Chevy Chase, MD) in Mar 2020
Interview
The interviewer appeared to be condescending the whole time. No feedback and no emotion. Unpleasant experience. But had to admit that I did not fully prepare especially when the interviewer asked me to name a restaurant near the workplace.
