Interview
I applied online and received a phone call to interview about a week and a half to two weeks later. She gave me a time and I was dreading a group interview, but as the other reviews suggested, it was. There were 4 of us in total, all of us around the same age (18-21). First we were asked a series of questions (Introduce yourself, How do you know you've had a good day? When was a time when you received great customer service? Why Gap? When was a time you disagreed with a company or school policy and what did you do about it?).
Then we were brought to the floor and told to pick out an outfit that represents your style and then explain it, then pretended we worked there and tried to help the manager pick out an outfit for whatever occasion she told us.
Overall it was easy, but still nerve wracking. Everyone I encountered (except for a few of the employees/sales associates working at the time) was very nice and friendly. I got a call four days later asking to come in for a second interview. I get there and it took five minutes. The manager told me only four of us had been hired and that she just wanted to get to know us first (asked Why Gap, Tell me about yourself, Gap/Gap Kids/or Gap Body where do you want to work, how many hours are you looking for?). Now I'm waiting for my background check to clear and, I assume, then I start orientation.
Group interview with other candidates with the store manager. Arrive at the store and wait for other candidates. Then interview happens in break room and it lasted roughly about 30-60minutes
It was a group interview of about 10-12 people. If I remember correctly they take you to the back, the stock room, and ask almost everyone the same question. The interview lasted about 30 minutes.
It was very easy, one in person interview with the general manager and then I was accepted! Mainly personality and behavioral questions were asked, and I think enthusiasm on my end helped the most.
