I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Gartner (Egham, England)
Interview
four-step process:
1) Introductory phone call with a recruiter (30-45 min). This is to get to know you better and it's a preliminary understanding of your background.
2)Video-call through Webex (1h30m). This is much more in depth. You will be assessed on situational based questions based on the following 4 traits: executive presence; clockspeed; pathway to gold; will to win. Also, you will be asked about Gartner articulation and you will do a short sales role-play.
3)This stage, personally, was more about testing if you have consolidated what has been done so far. They ask about Gartner articulation and another role play to do.
4) Assessment centre. Situational based questions; short presentation about Why sales & Why Gartner; Gartner articulation, your role, more about sales; role play over the phone. This is a full day-assessment at Gartner offices. Few tips: be enthusiastic, ask meaningful questions, engage with Gartner employees who are there, be spontaneous. Always ask for feedbacks.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Gartner (Barcelona) in Apr 2019
Interview
The interview process was composed of five steps.
4 steps were interviews on the phone with recruiters, steps number 3 and 4 including a little sales role-play.
The final step was in person in the Barcelona office with the recruiter that was there since the beginning of the process, a manager and the VP of sales.
Overall, the process was very smooth and I was very well accompanied receiving constructive feedback (very helpful!) from the recruiter between each step.
They really want you to do well and give you all the info you need to succeed.
Special thanks to Roberta !
Interview questions [3]
Question 1
Describe a time when you showed integrity in your work.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Gartner (Egham, England)
Interview
4 rounds of interviews:
1. Initial phone call & Gartner Introduction
2. Phone call consisting of "Tell me a time when" questions
3. Continuation of stage 2 with more detail and a phone call role play
4. Assessment day with another role play
From my experience the recruitment process overall was excellent.
It was was well organised and they gave candidates tangible feedback on how to improve. The company is big on coaching and likes people who can take advise and continually develop.
If you have done sales before it should be challenging but not too difficult.
Also make sure you apply for other jobs simultaneously as I feel the company took me more seriously when they knew I was applying for multiple roles.
