I was referred by a GD empoyee (and former colleague). I was called for an on-the-spot interview without any prior notice. As I was on the phone at the time I put my client on hold and took the call from GD. Informing them I was otherwise engaged, I asked them to call me back in 5 mins. They failed to do so.
3 days later they sent me a meeting request via Outlook. I acceped for 12:30 the following Monday.
GD called me at 13:30 the following Monday,
I asked if they were looking to the fill the role with a temporary employee or a contractor. They asked me to explain the difference!! Once I had explained the difference they decided it would be filled by a contractor.
I asked about the job description. There wasn't one.
I asked what exactly they wanted to model. This was to be determined
I asked about the contract duration. They had not decided.
I asked about the working hours, working days per week, flexibility, etc. They hadn't thought about this yet.
I asked about remuneration. No decision had been made.
They told me the poistion would be in South Wales and would I be prepared to work there. I said it would be difficult to commute from Manchester!
By this time I was seriously wondering what they were expecting me to commit to.
Interview ended after 10 mins. Happy to have avoided that bulet!
