      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at General Motors (GM) in July 2021

      Interview

Long interview process, took close to 2 months to get an offer. A combination of 2 hirevue (behavioral and coding challenge), 1 phone screen (behavioral), and a 2 hour virtual interview (mostly behavioral, some technical questions based on your experience).

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Why would you want to work at GM?
      Answer question

      Interview

Pretty easy interview. Was scheduled for 2 hrs but only ended up using 1hr where 30 mins to answer their questions and approximately 30mins of me asking them questions. Can't stress it enough but its all STAR questions. If you can nail that, you've basically got the job. Can't remember all the questions but all STAR and no technical questions (may differ based on the engineers interviewing you)

      Question 1

When have you had to work as a team and how did you manage conflict?

Went well. Appropriate questions, but it took a couple of hours to complete. There was a separate code test, but that took place before the face to face interview with two hiring managers.

What was the most difficult thing you've done in software development.
