I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Gilead Sciences (Foster City, CA) in June 2013
Interview
Two initial phone interviews followed by all day in person with 6 people from varying job code levels. Very informal style of questioning - more discussion, getting to know each other. Several people mentioned that "Gilead is no place to hide"
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Several competency based questions like: provide an example of when you missed a deadline, how did you handle that? As well as provide and example of a project that you managed where you had to influence without authority
This was a fairly solid interview process. The interview team was quick and organized with clear questions and a process that makes sense. I also had the ability to counter offer.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Gilead Sciences in Mar 2025
Interview
3 rounds of Interviews and then got ghosted by recruiter. Mailed 3 times, and no response. You kinda get your hopes up if interviews go very well and it is your top choice career wise. And then they ghost you for a month and still no rejection, nor acceptance. Disappointed
I interviewed at Gilead Sciences (Foster City, CA)
Interview
4 rounds of interviews 30 minutes each. No technical questions, just lots of typical aptitude questions from various people within the function. They were all conducted virtually and I took them from home.
