I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Government Actuary's Department UK (London, England) in Jan 2024
Interview
The final assessment centre consisted of a solo interview and a group exercise.
In the group exercise, we all took roles with competing personal interests to collectively agree on conclusions that would personally benefit only a select few of us.
In the solo interview, we are asked behaviour and strengths questions, including asking for examples from our past and what we would do in theoretical workplace scenarios. There was also a technical section, in which we had to give our thoughts on data and data visualisations.

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Government Actuary's Department UK (London, England) in Feb 2025
Interview
Application -> one-way recorded video interview -> in-person assessment centre (group task + interview).
Questions for both recorded and in-person interviews were fairly standard, but focused on teamwork, communication, and time management.
In the in-person competency-based interview, they ask you generally about a skill (e.g. importance of communication) and then examples and then some follow-up questions. This interview also has some data related tasks which are mostly common sense, e.g. spot incorrectly calculated values with the data in table, is data presented well, etc.
Group task was okay, but there's a lot to discuss - keep track of time and make decisions in good time.

Question 1
Have you ever communicated something difficult to someone?
